Buster T. Pumpkinhead Records: go to songs

6. Let's Pretend

(Guitar & Voice: Ginger Hendrix; Shaker and [more] Cow Bell: Dean Giles)
LET'S PRETEND

This song is all about the hand motions (which I've noted in the lyrics). It's also a real kick to let them come up with other things to pretend to be and act those out somewhere in the middle of the song.

CHORUS:
Let’s pretend.
Let’s pretend.
Let’s pretend we’re anything
we want to be.

We can be a tiger. [roar with tiger fingers--you know: tiger fingers]
We can be a snake. [hissing snake sound]
We can be a mower [a spitting kind of mower noise]
or a garden rake. [fingers up on your head to make you look like a, well, rake]

CHORUS:
Let’s pretend.
Let’s pretend.
Let’s pretend we’re anything
we want to be.

We can be a surfer
riding a big wave. [balancing on a board and a "Whoaaaaa" ]
We can be a fuzzy ferret
hiding in a cave. [ a sort of teeth-sucking noise--really more gopherish, but very fun]

CHORUS:
Let’s pretend.
Let’s pretend.
Let’s pretend we’re anything
we want to be.

We can be a farmer
riding a big tractor. [like you're steering a big tractor steering wheel with a wave and a "howdy!"]
We can be a monkey [standard monkey noise]
or a velociraptor. [it's all about the neck for the raptor]

CHORUS:
Let’s pretend.
Let’s pretend.
Let’s pretend we’re anything
we want to be.

We can be a baby. [goo goo gaa gaa]
We can be a dog. [woof woof]
We can be a tiny little ant
riding on a log. [paddle like crazy with little teeny ant strokes]

CHORUS:
Let’s pretend.
Let’s pretend.
Let’s pretend we’re anything
we want to be.
