1) I Chaperoned a Field Trip.
I can't talk about it.
But because I chaperoned a field trip yesterday, all I wanted to do was sew today.
2) The Sewing Machine Man Came.
Because all I wanted to do was sew today, I asked the sewing machine man to come and bring my newly-fixed machine, Lettie, who has been under the weather--Persnickety. Too tricky and ready-to-snag to use lately--until now.
Everyone should have a Sewing Machine Man. They are nice and do good work and say things like, "I took it completely apart, cleaned it, and put it back together and waxed and shined it. Now it sews perfectly." And they don't then take the equivalent of your mortage before they leave.
3) Pumpkinhead & Me Made a Purse.
And because the sewing machine man came today, I could sew on Lettie, who is the easiest, steadiest, happiest-to-use machine ever. And also shiny.
So Baby Pumpkinhead and I could make a purse. Which was her idea.
And because we could sew on Lettie, we together spanned 4 generations on one machine today. Solid use of a Friday.
4) Also a New Tutorial.
Because I sewed a purse with the Pumpkinhead and didn't yell or anything, I immediately wanted to show you how to do it. I have never successfully sewn with any of my children before today. I can't talk about (See #1). But I had good luck today and noticed enough as I went that I wanted to tell you. So I wrote a new tutorial.
I just put it up: How to Sew with a 4 Yr Old: A 5-Step Purse in 10 Steps.
Now you can go make one with your Pumpkinhead.
